A pipe that broke inside a wall, a leak from the floor above, water coming in from the hillside in a storm, or smoke and ash still inside the house after the fire. Pacific Palisades homes face all of them, and each one needs a different approach. We have been doing this work across Los Angeles for 15 years, and we answer 24/7.

After the Palisades Fire

The January 2025 Palisades Fire destroyed thousands of homes. Many of the houses that stood took in smoke, soot and ash through attics, vents, doors and windows. The house can look fine and still smell, and fine ash sits in closets, cabinets, ducts and on everything inside.

Cleaning a house like that is not a wipe-down. Ash is removed with HEPA vacuums first, so it is not spread around. Then surfaces are cleaned, odor is treated at the source, and the HVAC system is cleaned or replaced when it pulled in smoke. Contents are cleaned or documented as a loss, item by item, for your insurance.

Hillside homes and storm water

Many homes in the Palisades sit on slopes and in canyons. In heavy rain, water comes in through slope drainage, retaining walls, decks, flat roofs and large sliding doors. Water that gets in often runs inside the wall or under the floor before it shows.

We measure before we open anything. A moisture meter and a thermal camera show how far the water went, so we open only what’s wet.

What we do

Leaks and broken pipes

Supply lines, water heaters, appliances and leaks from the floor above. We find the source, open the wall or ceiling only where it’s wet, and dry the structure to the IICRC S500 standard. If you need a plumber or a roofer, I can bring one I work with.

Storm and hillside water

We extract the water, remove what can’t be dried, and dry the framing and subfloor. We document everything with readings and photos for your insurance.

Smoke, soot and ash

HEPA vacuuming, surface cleaning, odor treatment at the source with HEPA air scrubbers and hydroxyl generators, and HVAC cleaning or removal when needed. When the building’s age calls for it, we test for lead or asbestos before disturbing materials. More on our fire and smoke restoration.

Contents: pack-out, cleaning and inventory

We pack out the contents, clean what can be cleaned, and photograph and list every item. What can’t be saved is documented for your claim. When the house is ready, everything comes back.

Mold

Containment, HEPA air filtration, removal of what can’t be cleaned, cleaning of what can, and a fix for the moisture source. Remediation follows the IICRC S520 standard. When the project calls for independent clearance testing, an independent inspector does it. More on mold removal and remediation.

Reconstruction

We can rebuild after mitigation, or hand off to your own contractor with full documentation.

We don’t replace what can be saved

Not every wet floor or smoky item has to be thrown away. If I am not convinced a material needs to be replaced, I don’t recommend replacing it. When it can’t be saved, I explain why and document it.

Smoke cleaning after the Palisades Fire

This family home was left standing after the fire, but smoke and ash got inside. It was an insurance claim. We emptied the rooms and removed ash and fine dust from floors, closets and surfaces with HEPA vacuums. Then every surface was cleaned.

Every item cleaned and documented

The contents went outside, and each item was cleaned and photographed one by one: cushions, kitchenware, books, toys, small appliances. That record went to the adjuster, so nothing was missed on the claim.

Ready for the family to move back

When the cleaning was done, the rooms were clean and empty, ready for the contents to come back.

Pacific Palisades FAQ

My house didn’t burn. Can it still have smoke damage?

Yes. Smoke and ash get in through attics, vents, doors and windows. Odor, a gray film on surfaces and ash in closets and ducts are the usual signs. We inspect and tell you what needs cleaning and what doesn’t.

Do you work with insurance?

Yes. We work directly with your insurance company and document everything with photos, readings and an itemized list. Your carrier decides what is covered.

Do you clean contents or only the house?

Both. We pack out, clean, and document contents item by item, and bring them back when the house is ready.

Is the inspection free?

Yes. The initial on-site inspection and assessment are free.

Do you speak Russian, Ukrainian or Hebrew?

Yes. I speak all three and can explain the damage, the plan and the insurance process in your language.
